Description
I wrote this piece in 2005 for 2 siblings who called to say that they didn't think that they could come to the group class that day, for they were too depressed for their cat had just died. i promised them that if they came I'd compose them a piece in memory of their cat. So they came and were laughing when I played them the piece.

In this short piece, the cat, at the beginning, is bored, meowing, and sharpening it's claws on the couch. After it has done this a couple times it hears the mouse squeek. The cat looks around for the mouse, sees it, and the chase is on. You can let the chase last as long as you want, but in the 2nd to last measure you hear the mouses last squeek as the cat catches it. In the last measure you hear the proud cat's meow!

Originally I wrote this as a duet for 2 violins, but then I arranged it to be played on just one violin as a solo.
